The owners of a beautifully built solid family home were looking for an assistive technology solution to assist with limited hand and arm movement. Their main interest was for the solution to assist with turning lights on and off, controlling the TV and multi-room music system.

A key factor was to provide a new LED strip installed under cabinetry that would come on as they
walked into their ensuite.

Lighting

• Lighting control using wall switches, iPhone, iPad and Voice Control.
• Client programmable automated lighting scenes based on time and sunset/sunrise.

We Assess

During our assessment phase we discovered our client had difficulty turning on lights using the wall
switches, controlling his TV and music system with the standard manufacturers remote controls.

Specify

Using the information gathered during our assessment we specified an Assistive Technology solution
that kept the standard method of controlling lighting and Audio-Visual control. The solution
integrated with a single user interface on the clients iPhone as well as Voice Control. A proposal was
then submitted for approval.

We Install

GEOHAVEN supplied and installed the Assistive Technology Solution including a new LED strip under
cabinetry in the ensuite. A sensor was used to automatically activate the LED strip whenever a
person enters the room.

All lighting is controlled using wall switches, smart devices and Voice Control. The TV and multi-room
music system is controlled used the standard manufacturers remotes, smart devices and Voice
Control.
